Audri Schaay
Clinical Massage, JING, Pilates, Yoga, FaMo® practitioner
My name is Audri, I live in Burford with my husband and my two teenagers. I am a Clinical Massage therapist
and Pilates Studio owner located at Oxleaxe Farm in Filkins.
After a severe episode of spasmodic lower-back pain. I had a demanding role in IT and was on the career
ladder ascent when two incidents happened to close colleagues with life-changing consequences to them. It
grabbed my attention about where I was heading. I set forth a path to be of service to others.
My journey began when I enrolled on the Comprehensive Polestar Pilates in London. My curiosity led me to
seek to understand the issue(s) in the body I aimed to solve with an exercise. Anatomy Trains introduced me to
Tensegrity and Myofascial lines, combining tension and stability to any physical structure to create balance. It
changed the lens through which I see the body and I am interested in fascial manual work and nourishment
through movement. I trained with the British Wheel of Yoga, Anatomy Trains in Movement and Fascia
Movement®.
During lockdown, I trained in Clinical and Sports massage (JING) expanding on chronic musculoskeletal pain
conditions. Trigger Points often mimic common pain conditions such as Frozen Shoulder, Plantar fasciitis,
Sciatica, and tendonopathies. The research in my final year developed my confidence to treat complex
conditions when assessing headaches and jaw pain (TMJ).
Fascial work can be used for scars to break up adhesions and lessen tension. I work closely with those affected
by cancer treatment and rehabilitation. Through hands-on massage or nourishing movement, I offer advice to
address a specific outcome. I believe in sharing knowledge generously and teaching to self-treat so it can be
practised safely and independently.
